Bolognese Sauce

Bolognese sauce is a classic meat sauce that almost always comes with pasta. It is usually made with ground beef, meat stock, semi-dried tomatoes, red wine, a little bit of tomato paste and usually a little bit of onion and garlic. There are many variations of this recipe, depending on who you ask. You may also see bolognese sauce served as a pasta topping, on pizza or as an entrée.


Ragù, also called ragù alla Bolognese, is an Italian sauce typically made with ground beef, ragù sauce and pasta. They are similar to lasagna and can be stuffed with a variety of ingredients such as ground beef, ground pork, beef tomato sauce, mozzarella and/or other cheeses.


Pesto is an Italian sauce typically made with fresh basil, olive oil and garlic. They are commonly served as an appetizer with warm bread, or as a side dish with pasta. Pesto is also commonly served with sandwiches.

Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Creamy mushroom sauce is a tomato-based, mushroom-based sauce. Creamy mushroom sauces come in a variety of flavors such as mushroom, garlic, white wine (or chicken broth), butter, and Parmesan cheese.

Ravioli is one of my favorite pasta dishes, but it can be challenging to pair with a sauce. Luckily, there are a lot of great sauces available. Whether you prefer a red sauce, a creamy sauce, a roasted red pepper sauce or a tomato sauce, you should be able to find something that works for you.

Remember not to be afraid to try new sauces. Don’t stick with just one or two, and don’t be afraid to branch out to other sauces. Try something new every once in a while, and you might find you like them a lot better than your old favorites!
